Privacy notice
What we collect and why

What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no behavioural profiling, no selling or renting of data.
- No access to your contacts, location, SMS, photos or files.
- No accounts for people under 18. Every exam on Kutoff requires candidates to be adults; the app asks you to confirm this.
Your rights (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)
- Access and export: Settings → Export my data gives you a JSON copy.
- Correction: change your exam, date, hours and name in Settings at any time.
- Erasure: Settings → Delete account, or the web form. Everything is purged from our systems within 7 days; backups expire within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent: uninstalling the app or deleting your account withdraws consent for everything except records we must keep for tax and fraud prevention.
- Grievance: write to the Grievance Officer at brownshadestudio@gmail.com. We acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days. You may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Retention and security
Data is kept while your account exists. Cloud data is stored in Google Cloud's Mumbai (asia-south1) region, encrypted in transit and at rest, protected by Firebase App Check and per-user security rules. Our servers keep no copy of tutor conversations beyond a cached explanation keyed to the question, never to you.
Changes
When this notice changes, the app asks for your consent again before continuing. The version number at the top tells you which notice you agreed to.

हम क्या एकत्र करते हैं और क्यों
- आपके उत्तर, स्कोर, प्रति प्रश्न समय, टॉपिक आँकड़े — आपकी प्रगति दिखाने, योजना बनाने और अभ्यास प्रश्न चुनने के लिए। ये आपके फ़ोन पर रहते हैं; साइन-इन करने पर आपके निजी क्लाउड बैकअप (Google Firebase, मुंबई) में भी।
- परीक्षा, लक्ष्य तिथि, पढ़ाई के घंटे, भाषा, 18+ की पुष्टि, सहमति संस्करण — ऐप को आपके अनुसार ढालने और कानून का पालन करने के लिए। आयु के लिए केवल हाँ/नहीं, जन्मतिथि कभी नहीं।
- PwBD (बेंचमार्क दिव्यांगता) सेटिंग चालू की है या नहीं — SSC द्वारा दी गई रियायतें — अतिरिक्त समय और स्क्राइब — देने के लिए। केवल हाँ/नहीं संग्रहीत होता है — कोई प्रमाणपत्र या चिकित्सकीय विवरण कभी नहीं। सेटिंग्स से बंद करने पर संग्रहण रुक जाता है।
- Google खाते का ईमेल और नाम (केवल Google से साइन-इन करने पर) — नए फ़ोन पर प्रगति वापस लाने के लिए।
- ट्यूटर में लिखे प्रश्न, संबंधित प्रश्न और आँकड़ों का छोटा सार — शंका का उत्तर देने के लिए हमारे सर्वर और Anthropic (Claude API) को भेजा जाता है, आपकी पहचान से जोड़े बिना। Anthropic इसे भारत के बाहर प्रोसेस करता है।
- क्रैश रिपोर्ट और गुमनाम उपयोग आँकड़े — बग ठीक करने के लिए। कोई विज्ञापन आईडी नहीं। सेटिंग्स से बंद कर सकते हैं।
- खरीद टोकन (Pass खरीदने पर) — Google Play से सत्यापन के लिए। हम कार्ड या UPI विवरण कभी नहीं देखते।
हम क्या नहीं करते
- कोई विज्ञापन नहीं, कोई प्रोफ़ाइलिंग नहीं, डेटा बेचना या किराए पर देना नहीं।
- संपर्क, लोकेशन, SMS, फ़ोटो या फ़ाइलों तक कोई पहुँच नहीं।
- 18 वर्ष से कम आयु के लिए कोई खाता नहीं।
आपके अधिकार (डिजिटल व्यक्तिगत डेटा संरक्षण अधिनियम, 2023)
- पहुँच और निर्यात: सेटिंग्स → मेरा डेटा निर्यात करें।
- सुधार: सेटिंग्स में कभी भी बदलें।
- मिटाना: सेटिंग्स → खाता हटाएँ, या वेब फ़ॉर्म। 7 दिनों में सब हट जाता है; बैकअप 30 दिनों में समाप्त।
- शिकायत: शिकायत अधिकारी — brownshadestudio@gmail.com। 48 घंटे में पावती, 30 दिनों में समाधान। आप डेटा संरक्षण बोर्ड से संपर्क कर सकते हैं।

डेटा Google Cloud के मुंबई (asia-south1) क्षेत्र में, एन्क्रिप्टेड, Firebase App Check और प्रति-उपयोगकर्ता सुरक्षा नियमों से सुरक्षित रहता है।
